Upcoming 2023 Honda Models in British Columbia
An innovative spirit is part of what sets Honda vehicles apart from the rest, with thoughtful design and an eye on efficiency forcing Honda’s engineers to constantly tweak and re-tool their vehicles to offer the best product possible. While you’re sure to find a perfect fit in the vehicle lineup at Vancouver Island’s Campbell River Honda, we want to highlight a couple of the upcoming models we’re most excited about finding at our dealership later this year. Read on to learn more about the upcoming 2023 Honda HR-V and 2023 Honda Civic Type-R with Campbell River Honda!
2023 Honda HR-V
Teased as a part of Honda’s Year of the Crossover (which is believed to include revamped versions of the CR-V and Pilot as well), the HR-V is set to be completely redesigned for the 2023 model year. A new interior, based on the intuitive layout of the new Civic is expected, while artist’s renderings of the HR-V’s exterior design have also been released by Honda—showcasing an all-new, sportier exterior design.
While the details released by Honda so far have been minimal, they have claimed the 2023 HR-V will have “more standard features than ever”, meaning Honda Sensing™ technologies are sure to be included, alongside what we imagine is even more amenities like a hands-free power liftgate and more. The European version of the HR-V (known as the Vezel) underwent a redesign for 2022, and while Honda claims that the two vehicles will look nothing alike, the Vezel did add a hybrid powertrain model to the lineup—something we imagine could find its way to the 2023 Honda HR-V. For now, all we can do is wait to find out more about this class-favourite compact crossover’s redesign.
2023 Honda Civic Type-R
The legendary Honda Civic was completely redesigned for the 2022 model year, offering an even more refined take on this classic compact sedan. Lost in the mix, there was no 2022 version of the Civic Type-R, the nameplate’s sportier hatchback version. After a year away from the spotlight, the 2023 Honda Civic Type-R is set to return, more powerful than ever. Similar to the redesigned HR-V, details regarding the new Type-R are sparse, but Honda did release a video (seen below) showing off this motorsport-inspired model tearing up the famous Suzuka Circuit.
We can see, despite the black and red camouflage paint job, this iteration of the Type-R offers a sportier, more aggressive aesthetic than either the normal sedan or hatchback versions of the 2023 Civic. A glimpse of red was spotted behind the new Type-R’s 10-spoke wheels, indicating that Honda’s partnership with Brembo looks to remain intact on this newest version of Honda’s hot hatch. And with the last Type-R offering 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, it’s not a stretch to imagine that this latest model will build off those numbers for even more power on the road. Historically, the Type-R has only been offered with a manual transmission, though rumour has it the 2023 Honda Civic Type-R might be the first of its kind to offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
